The Executive Network Groups Logistics & Transport Division is currently searching for a Health & Safety Manager in the Manchester, Merseyside area on a full time permanent basis.
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum
The ideal Transport Health & Safety Manager must have:
Significant health and safety management experience of HGV transport and distribution
Demonstrable record of performance, productivity and service delivery
In-depth and working knowledge of all the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) applicable legislation and any developments that affect our industry, especially CDM, LOLER, PUWER, Working at Height, Risk Assessment, Safe Systems of Work, COSHH, Work place transport, etc.
A confident communicator with excellent organisational and problem solving skills and a real 'can do' attitude
Experience of working in a high volume, fast paced business is essential
The overall responsibilities for the Transport Health & Safety Manager will be to:
Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health ensuring adherence and regular review and communication of all health and safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations
Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas of health, safety and welfare at work and has appropriate protective and preventative measures in place
Complete and review risk assessments for work equipment and transport operations
Co-ordinate the development of health and safety policies, safe systems of work and procedures and ensure the completion of tasks
All accidents are documented and investigated as appropriate and any identified improvements are implemented
Ensure that a planned programme of safety inspections and audits is carried out and employees are aware of their responsibilities Organise and carry out HS training and ensure that any statutory requirements relating to HS training are met throughout the business
