The Executive network group have partenered with major 3pl who are currenlty in the search for a Transport Operations Manager who will be responsible for the 24/7 Transport operations, managing the Transport Team and supporting the Transport Manager in ensuring that costs are controlled in line with budget / forecast expectations.
Salary: £60,000
Location: Hoddesdon
The Role:
- Manage the Depot Transport staff to execute Traffic plans to enable delivery of products to customers within agreed service levels
- Motivate and develop the team through engagement, training and personal development plans
- Ensure all staff are fully trained and have the correct equipment
- Supports communication throughout department including team briefings and publication of KPIs
- Ensure a secure and safe environment for staff, both in your department and across the wider business
- Be responsible for the maintenance and fuel aspect of Transport Budget, to include various KPI’s and costs
The ideal candidate will have:
- Commercial knowledge of transport operations including experience of operating in a closed book, shared user environment
- Previous supervisory experience within a FMCG environment
- Negotiating skills with the ability to influence and steer
- Leadership and motivational qualities and proven experience of building a team
- Team player, a firm and confident manager who is skilled at setting clear objectives and motivating their team
- Agile – able to work within an evolving organisation
- Ability to challenge the status quo and drive changes in the business
- Able to thrive in a highly competitive and demanding environment
