Technical Network has been retained by an international manufacturing business to source an experienced Operations Manager for one of their UK facilities based in North Cambridgeshire. With site-wide responsibilities this role provides a brilliant opportunity for a resilient and driven individual to make their mark on a growing UK business.
Operations Manager – Food / FMCG Manufacturing
Salary: to £60000 + benefits
Location: Cambridgeshire ( commutable from Peterborough, Kings Lynn, Spalding, Thetford areas )
This successful business is a marketing leading manufacturer of packaging primarily for the food industry, as site Operations Manager to take full, site-wide responsibility for one of their key manufacturing facilities, production process, new projects and business expansion plans
The Operations Manager will form part of the senior leadership team of this impressive manufacturing facility and will have full site responsibility for all operational performance across manufacturing, H&S, quality, people and productivity. Reporting directly into the Plant Manager, you will be tasked with leading and developing a culture of success through a team of direct reports including production operations, process engineering, planning and SHEQ with a wider team of skilled colleagues.
o Owning leading and improving a balanced scorecard of KPIs
o Driving a culture of delivering productivity and operations improvements to enable new work to be brought into the plant
o Managing a motivated, high performing team to increase efficiency across the plant
o Promoting a culture of continuous improvement with emphasis on health & safety and hygiene
o Contributing to operational strategy and managing improvement and CAPEX projects to achieve strategic business goals
Applications are sought from experienced Operations Managers or Manufacturing Managers with a background in high volume manufacturing
o Background in food or packaging manufacture ideally with knowledge of high care food & hygiene standards
o Educated to Degree level, Time Served or equivalent in an engineering or technical discipline ideally with some further management and H&S qualifications
o Knowledge of operational management and organisational methods in a fast pace high volume manufacturing environment
o Strong, passionate and motivational leadership skills with the ability to build a culture of success
o Ability to manage complex projects and proactively address issues
o A proven track record of continuous improvement and lead manufacturing, you will know what world class manufacturing looks like
o Excellent communication skills at all levels of the business
o An exemplary reputation of health & safety delivery and improvement
