Technical Network has been retained by an international manufacturing business to source an experienced Shift Production Manager for one of their UK facilities based in North Cambridgeshire. With site-wide responsibilities this role provides a brilliant opportunity for a resilient and driven individual to make their mark on a growing UK business.
Production Shift Manager – Food / FMCG Manufacturing
Salary: to £48000 + benefits
Location: Cambridgeshire ( commutable from Peterborough, Kings Lynn, Spalding, Thetford areas )
Job Purpose
o Lead and supervise a team managing resources and processes in a manufacturing facility.
o Responsibility for all aspects of departmental health, safety, environment and waste streams
o Manage, lead, develop, coach and engage a team of employees by deploying strong leadership qualities.
o Set clear expectations of the team, build an understanding of the plant & processes and identify bottlenecks & opportunities.
o Optimise plant uptime by scheduling in maintenance requirements that fit best to avoid production downtime.
o Ensure shift handovers take place to ensure production continuity.
o Drive the team to deliver targets on time to assist meeting the business plan
Experience required
You will already be an experienced Shift Manager, Shift Supervisor or Production Supervisor or Production Manager working within fast paced volume manufacturing environment and seeking your next career step with an expanding and successful organisation.
o Experience of leading teams in a very high volume, fast paced and pressurised manufacturing environment
o Background in food or packaging manufacture ideally with knowledge of high care food & hygiene standards
o Experience of coaching and mentoring a teams
o Experience of optimising production facilities, capex projects and delivery of continuous improvement/ lean manufacturing objectives
o Able to plan and organise manning, materials and production in a busy environment along with excellent management, prioritisation and organisational skills
o Assertive, independent and self sufficient with the ability to cope effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines
o Ability to drive performance against KPI's
o Good oral & written communication skills
o Management or supervisory qualifications ; ILM, NVQ4, HNC, Degree
o Time served / BTEC Mechanical Engineering and lean/ sigma training highly desirable
