A fast paced manufacturing business is seeking a highly capable and commercially focused HR Manager to join their Wisbech operation

This position will oversee c70 employees on this fast paced manufacturing/engineering environments. With this being a standalone role (whilst working alongside a number of other site based HR Managers) the role will be truly generalist, getting involved in all aspects of the HR lifecycle from the strategic to some aspects of the transactional/administrative. As such, it is clear that the HR Manager must be happy to get their hands dirty, be visible on the shop floor, whilst ensuring they do not sit in an ivory tower dictating to colleagues.

The role will work closely with a SLT providing a true business partnering service. Providing both a proactive and reactive service, the HR Manager will deal with ER issues through to on boarding and recruitment, compensation and benefits, and identifying gaps in the skills of the workforce; as well as having projects to crack on with as dictated by the HR Director.

With a capable and loyal workforce is already in place the HR Manager’s objective is to improve skills and working practices. An important part of the role will be to mentor younger members of staff and other individuals to develop their skills / capabilities; as such, a key strength will be communication.
Whilst this role will be focused on the division, you will need to work collectively and collaboratively with the rest of the HR team, yet able to work autonomously and make decisions based on the needs of your internal customer base.
To be considered for this role you will have:
• Experience of having a generalist service – both operationally– within a fast paced environment;
• Worked as part of a team of HR professionals yet happy to work autonomously and be self-sufficient;
• Clear evidence of the positive commercial impact they will have made through the introduction of operational initiatives within an SME;
• In depth understanding of HR policies and processes (and development and implementation of these);
• Ability to influence and engage with staff at all levels within the business;
• In depth knowledge of Employment Law;
• Experience of project and change management;
• The ability to drive continuous improvement;
• The ability to develop the culture of the business whilst ensuring it does not lose its identity, and staying true to its values.
