Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to develop and utilise your skill set within an expanding well established engineering & manufacturing company?
Electrical Design Engineer - (electrical power & industrial switchgear)
Salary: £40-45000 + benefits
Location: Burton on Trent
My client is an innovative and rapidly expanding company who are invested heavily in a brand new manufacturing facility and specialise in the design and manufacture of electrical power equipment for a wide range of clientele worldwide. As a result of increased sales orders an additional Electrical Design Engineer is sought to be responsible for the electrical design and development of a range of projects, starting from the initial design, working to customer specifications', preparing designs for manufacture and seeing the product through to completion.
Responsibilities:
o Design and develop new products as required to meet customers specification and to see them through to completion
o Design electrical schematics, control panel wiring diagrams, busbars for containerised packaged solutions
o Specification, component selection, design calculations as appropriate to requirements
o Support technical sales and manufacturing and test departments where required
o Produce technical documentation as required, including 3D CAD models, 2D CAD drawings, DXF files, bills of materials etc
o Ensure products meet mandatory legislation and customer specific legislation.
Experience:
The role would suit an experienced Electrical Engineer or Electrical Design Engineer who will have the ability to analyse the suitability of a design solution, you will be joining an experienced design team to produce design documentation to substantiate the design and application to the project.
o HNC/ Degree Electrical Engineering within a electrical manufacturing, panel builder or capital machinery environment.
o Design experience of electrical control systems / control panels and wiring schematics
o Knowledge of electrical design incorporating some of the following: electrical switchgear(LV/MV/HV), transformers, power supplies, bus bars, cooling fans, control systems, containerised/ packaged solutions
o Extensive CAD background : AutoCAD ideally but Eplan or Solidworks is of interest
