Part of a major international group, this organisation produce complex high value components for the automotive industry. As a Production Engineer your role will be to oversee and lead improvement activity for the CNC secondary machining operations within a World Class Manufacturing facility.
Production Engineer CNC machining - Nights
Salary: circa £55,000 package including shift allowance + benefits
Location: Telford, Shropshire
Supporting night shift operations; The Production Engineer will be the technical lead for optimising current CNC programmes to improve cycle times and efficiency.
o Optimise existing tooling process and replenishment
o Support and train machine setter/ operators
o Identify new tooling suppliers and verify capabilities
o Implement process improvement strategies across all CNC machine cells - tooling, jigs and fixtures, quality / data analysis and optimisation of machine controls and production flow.
o Develop SOP and Tooling specification and support PFMEA
Experience needed for the Production Engineer
You will already have significant experience gained with high volume CNC machining operations as a Production Engineer, Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or CAD /CAM Engineer, alternative you may be an experienced CNC setter who is seeking more responsibility and opportunity to develop.
o Apprentice/HND/Degree trained in an Engineering discipline
o Experienced working with CNC machine tools, with associated knowledge of cutting tools, jigs and fixturing & GD&T
o 4/5 axis CNC Programming knowledge, preferably off line but not essential
o Ability to oversee & mentor the secondary operation machining team on the night shift

This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Engineer with strong CNC machining knowledge to be part of a global giant that is continuing to invest in additional manufacturing capacity to support new product launch.
The position will require you to work on a permanent night shift for a period of time with the potential opportunity to revert to permanent days or other shift working in the future.
