Quality Engineer (6 month contract)

A recognised high volume manufacturer are looking for an interim project based Quality Engineer to manage new product introduction of into production launch.

This is an ongoing requirement for an initial 6 month duration (possibly extension to 12 months) for an experienced Quality Engineering professional to join a specialist division of a global manufacturing organisation who are both winning and quoting for significant new business, particularly with emerging new EV automotive and volume manufacturers.

A recognised high volume manufacturer are looking for an interim project based Quality Engineer to manage new product introduction of into production launch.
Duties:
- Working from their manufacturing facility in Shropshire, the Project Quality Engineer will be responsible for:
- Support the APQP and NPI activities towards on time PPAP & PSW completion
- Manage the customer through the industrialisation, ensuring the design is fit for manufacture
- Ensure the proposed production process’ are capable of delivering the required tolerancing and product performance
- Hold engineering team accountable for designing production processes and tooling with all achievable error proofing, Supporting and driving a no fault forward design methodology
- Lead advanced quality aspects, supporting customer meetings and managing internal stake holders
- Support the APQP activities, FMEA, Gauge R&R, PPAP to cascade robust industrialisation and control plans.
- Support create of gauge and fixture design, buy off and spares management
Experience:
- Applications are sought from experienced Advanced or Project focused Quality Engineers with significant knowledge of new product introduction gained within high volume manufacturing.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and techniques, ideally gained working within automotive, yellow goods, aerospace or similar regulated environment.
- Quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, Gauge R&R, Control Plans, MSA and PFMEA.
- Apprentice trained, HNC or similar in an engineering or technical discipline.
