The Executive Network Group have partnered with a fantastic, growing, family run manufacturer in Aylesbury is looking for a Purchasing Manager to lead their fantastic team of 5.
This position requires a strong leader & coach as much as anything to help provide guidance to their very competent and well-established team.

Reports: 5
Location: Aylesford, Kent
Hours: 7.30am – 4.30pm
Salary: Negotiable, will be discussed openly with candidates prior to interview.
Key Overview
• Developing purchasing strategies
• Maintaining positive relationships with suppliers
• Coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities.
• You will work closely with our Product and Operations teams to ensure our supply chain planning, purchasing and logistics processes are efficient and profitable
• Implementing improvement where necessary.
• Be a strong leader, communicator and effective negotiator
• The ability to build relationships with our suppliers will be key to success in the role.
Key Responsibilities
• Taking overall responsibility for the Purchasing Team
• Balancing workloads, delegating tasks and cover during holiday/absence, performance management
• Proactively manage department resources in line with demand and projected workload
• Overseeing all supplier contacts and contracts, maintaining and improving relationships to ensure effective pricing and lead times
• Ensure all orders are actioned within 48 hours, including in peak, busy periods
• Ensure OTIF for all goods in
• Constant evaluation of Suppliers in quality control ensuring all items meet the specs we provide
• Ensuring continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
• Liaising with Sales Reps to ensure accurate forecasting, delivery and stock levels
• Overall responsibility for all stock control – ensuring the Purchasing team are working together to keep stock levels and re-ordering at optimum efficiency
• Working to manage procurement budget and prepare cost estimates
• Overseeing the Department’s output in running MRP, preparing and raising purchase orders and works orders and assisting as needed
• Assist with setting up new depots across USA & Europe as required
Essential
• Strong previous experience in a Supply Chain/Purchasing role ideally from with a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience in managing a Team
• Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships
• Analytical, numerically minded and be able to demonstrate problem solving abilities
• Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation and commercial understanding
• Confident at being a key player within the senior team
• Previous use of an ERP System and proficient in MS Office
