HSE Recruitment are working with a large FMCG business who are looking for an EHS Manager based out of their Manchester site. There are around 350 staff on site and it is a 24/7 operation. This is a standalone role reporting into the Factory Manager and sits on the senior leadership team. The site is well run and has an established health and safety culture with a low accident rates but with the current incumbent retiring, they want to ensure they maintain and continually improve upon the current standards. The wider EHS team meet weekly and monthly and there is a central team and a lot of initiatives come from here so it’s about managing the function on site with all the tools at your disposal and with their strategic direction.
 

The role-

• It will provide the site with Health, Safety, Security and Environmental advice and support. Implements central HS&E policies and procedures and drives continuous improvement of the site standards and systems.
• Manages the site’s HS&E systems and internal audit programmes.
• Supports the site in managing accident, issue and incident prevention and investigations, and in delivering compliance to all legal, company and other relevant external standards.
• As a site leadership team member in instrumental in the development of the site HSE strategy.

 

Person Spec- 

• The most important thing we are looking for is someone with the right attitude, someone who is enthusiastic and passionate about H&S as well as the businesses ethos. Someone who is positive and driven, who can be agile and deal with conflicting demands, work well with the site and the senior leadership team and who is resilient.
• We will consider candidates who are already operating at a management level or an advisor taking a step up.
• A minimum qualification of a NEBOSH Certificate but a Diploma level qualification would be desirable.
• An environmental qualification and experience working with the EA would be beneficial.

 

The salary on offer is £50-55,000 + 10% bonus and £5800 car allowance.
