The Executive Network Group are currently working with a global retailer who are looking for an experienced Ecommerce - Lead Operations Manager for a National Distribution Centre in Rochdale.

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
Reports – 9 Operations Managers
Location: Rochdale

Role Overview:
As a key part of an Operational Management team that are responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all core Distribution Centre activities, you will lead the site operationally to strive for excellence whilst displaying strong emotional intelligence.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Managing the day-to-day operation in line with agreed budget and ensuring KPIs are met or exceeded by ensuring the operations managers are performing their roles effectively
  • Supporting the GM to deliver the site and supply chain strategy from an operational perspective
  • Ensuring the site realises its full potential at each stage of the programme including costs, KPIs and throughputs
  • Working with your counterparts across the business to share best practice
  • Inspiring and developing your team to promote succession planning and ensuring in your absence site standards and service are maintained
  • Driving strong standards across all areas of the Distribution Centre
  • Have the ability to support the GM and work with the Group Supply Chain Director in their absence
  • Responsible for overseeing the automation onsite
  • Using your experience of managing a site and people to lead by example and find solutions to issues which may arise or spot them before they occur
  • Ensuring successful deployment of new systems, the Distribution Centre will bring on and integrate with such as a labour management system and transport management system
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the site WMS and look for ways to better leverage and utilise this across the site
 
Skills/Experience/Knowledge Needed:
  • Experience of managing an ecommerce operation is essential
  • Experience of deploying automation and managing colleagues and support teams working with automation is essential
  • Ability to take people on a journey using positive leadership skills
  • Experience of creating and managing budgets with the ability to make commercial decisions to protect customer service and maintain costs
  • Strong emotional intelligence is required
