Group HSE Manager

HSE Recruitment have partnered with a manufacturing business who are seeking their first UK and Ireland Group Health, Safety and Environment Manager.

This is a strategic hire to support their growth and alongside the support of the CEO, General Manager and HR you will be full autonomy to shape the strategy and direction of safety with a focus on aligning all sites.

The role will be based at the head office site in Kingswinford with regular travel to another manufacturing site in Portsmouth as well as supporting 4 other smaller sites across the UK and Ireland.

This is a newly created role evidencing the business commitment to their staff and customers. The business is investing in infrastructure behind the scenes to support growth and have recognised they don’t have a robust framework in place. Not only that but there is a genuine desire to improve safety across the sites, to create a more cohesive and consistent culture. It will take a strong character to drive the change, who will meet the business where they are, who will be patient and listen, be adaptable, show resilience and be agile.

We are looking for:

• Experience in HSE Manager role, ideally within a multisite capacity.
• Experience working within manufacturing.
• Ideally a Diploma level qualification in Health and Safety but NEBOSH Certificate level will also be considered.
• Someone who will come in with a fresh look on safety, who will take the time to understand the intricacies of the business, do a gap analysis and formulate a plan- have you been on a similar journey before?
• Experience implementing ISO 45001, ideally across multiple sites.
• We need someone who will involve, explain, educate, and work with people. Who will coach, mentor, and pull them along- culture change takes time and we want someone who understands this is a long term strategic change for the business.
