Job Description

Payroll Supervisor
Location: Coventry (Hybrid: 2–3 days on-site)
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Working Pattern: Full-time, Hybrid, Flexible

The Opportunity

Are you a payroll professional who thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment? We are representing a leading manufacturing group that is currently undergoing an exciting period of centralisation and growth.

Following a recent acquisition, the business is scaling its HR and Payroll infrastructure. We are looking for a Payroller who wants to be more than just a data processor; you will be a key member of the team, helping to drive process enhancements and system integrity across a multi-site operation.

Your Impact
  • Payroll Ownership: Act as the primary lead for preparing, validating, and controlling monthly payroll data for circa 500 employees across multiple UK sites.
  • Data Integrity: Extract and reconcile information from Time & Attendance (T&A) systems, ensuring all overtime, shift premiums, and absences are accurate.
  • Vendor Liaison: Manage the relationship with the outsourced payroll provider, ensuring all statutory compliance and internal controls are met.
  • HR Integration: Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contractual changes, and maintaining HR system accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to HR and payroll improvement projects as the business continues to standardise its group-wide processes.

What You’ll Bring
  • Proven Experience: Significant experience in monthly payroll administration, ideally within a multi-site manufacturing or engineering setting. Beneficial also if you have experience dealing with an outsourced payroll provider.
  • System Savvy: Strong Excel skills and confidence using integrated HR, Payroll, and T&A systems.
  • Communication: The ability to provide professional guidance to site managers and resolve complex payroll queries effectively.
  • Mindset: A methodical, pragmatic approach with the resilience to work in an environment that is still developing its centralised functions. Also someone who is friendly and personable to work in a small team.
  • Qualifications: A CIPP qualification is highly desirable but not essential.

If you feel you have the experience and looking for your next opportunity, we look forward to receiving you CV / Application.
