Service Controller

What’s involved in the role
  • Monitoring and recording of machine hours to ensure regular maintenance of machines is carried out
  • Liaising with customers to schedule maintenance / servicing of machines
  • Following scheduled maintenance ensuring defect correspondence is sent to customers in a timely manner
  • Takes the lead to communicate with Field Service Engineers to compile and prepare estimates for secondary work reported from services
  • Ensures warranty/exchange and new parts are returned within a set time frame following a process for correctly logging and storing them
  • Using systems, is able to determine tooling and spare parts requirements for field service engineers
  • Follows a consistent process to raise sale orders and warranty orders purchase requests
  • Monitors courier deliveries and informs relevant individuals of missing or incorrect parts
  • Develops and maintains good relationships between them self, customers and suppliers, internal departments and colleagues
  • Maintains a healthy and safe working environment for self and others through a clear understanding of workplace safety requirements and systems
  • Maintains a personal image that portrays and promotes the professionalism of the business at all times
  • Continually maintains close communication with Field Service Engineers, internal departments, suppliers and customers to keep them advised of the progress of jobs and any outstanding work
  • Effectively maintains clear and transparent communication through telephone conversations and email with all internal and external customers
  • Maintains an organised system of work, ensuring filing and documentation are handled in a timely manner and logically filed
  • Any other duty as required by management commensurate with the post
What you will need
  • Knowledge of construction, fleet management or plant and its working environment
  • Able to commute to Weston-Super-Mare on a daily basis
  • Hard working ethic with an understanding and experience of working closely with Field Service Engineers
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of working within an Office Administrator or Service Controller position
  • Willingness to go above and beyond and enthusiastic towards their work
  • Wants to grow with the company and embrace the variation on work, industry & location

  • Demonstrable experience handling orders and liaising with internal/external departments
  • Positive and responsible with a solutions-based attitude
Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00, 42.5 hours per week
