Elite Consultancy Network is pleased to partner with a leading machinery distributor, offering a fantastic opportunity for a Product Specialist – Compact Machinery. This hands-on technical role is perfect for someone passionate about construction equipment and troubleshooting. As the Product Specialist, you will play a key role in providing expert support, resolving technical issues, and delivering product training for compact machinery across a designated territory.
The Role: In this field-based role, you will be responsible for providing high-level technical support for a range of compact machines. These include mini and midi excavators, compact wheel loaders, and rollers. Your key responsibilities will include diagnosing faults, troubleshooting complex issues, and delivering product training to dealers and engineers.
The territory for this role covers the southern part of the UK, south of a line running from Mid Wales to Skegness, with travel to customer and dealer sites and occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Expert Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues for dealers, depot staff, and customers.
- Fault Diagnosis & Resolution: Identify and address machine faults, report findings, and support warranty claims.
- Training: Conduct formal and informal training sessions for dealer engineers, ensuring all technical knowledge is shared and understood.
- Build Strong Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, dealers, and regional management teams.
- Monitor Competitor Activity: Keep track of aftersales activities in the market and share insights with the team.
- Travel & Site Visits: Regular travel for site visits, meetings, and support sessions across the UK, with occasional international travel.
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years working with construction equipment, specifically in a technical or engineering support role.
- Qualifications: Recognized apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Construction Equipment or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of compact machinery, including expertise in electronics, hydraulics, fault finding, and troubleshooting.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work independently or as part of a small team.
- Additional Requirements: A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays.
The Package:
- Salary: £45-000-50,000 per year.
