New starter spotlight - Charlie & Lionel
A warm welcome to latest Q1 recruits!
This week we have welcomed another two experienced consultants to Network House, Charlie joins our delivery function within Network HR, Lionel is our newest addition to Procurement People and joins as part of their new journey!
Charlie is a fantastic addition to the Network HR team, with five years of recruitment exposure under her belt working at Hays and Gleeson she has advanced from a fast paced commercial desk to setting up an office support division and in the last 18 months has become an expert in placing Human Resources professionals. Charlie joins our delivery function as a Senior Delivery Consultant focused on mid-senior level HR assignments across the UK, with a focus on the financial services and insurance sectors.
Lionel also boasts an impressive recruitment career, having worked within the Allegis Group for most of his career representing the Aston Carter and TEKsystems brands within the Financial Services and Consulting sectors, and most recently working with Monarch Recruitment in the Cyber Security market across the Midlands. Lionel joins us as a Recruitment Consultant focusing on the professional services sectors within Procurement across the UK.

What drew you to recruitment in the first place?
Charlie:Initially I was drawn to recruitment for the people element. I came from a retail background and was always passionate around customer service and providing the best. 5 years in and I still love it! Recruitment isn’t just about filling jobs, its about building lifelong relationships with both candidates and clients. Essentially you are creating a better life for candidates with new opportunities and this gives me immense satisfaction that I am helping to do this.
Lionel: I was initially drawn into recruitment as I believed I would be a great fit in the industry and had the sales experience having previously worked as a Business Development Manager for an SME Logistics firm for 2 years. I would also say I am fairly entrepreneurial in my mindset. Why do I love recruitment? I enjoy the satisfaction of providing a service that is in the most part life changing for both clients.
Describe your personality in three words.
Charlie: Grounded, honest and kind.
Lionel: Comedic-Genius, Ambitious, Bad at Maths.
One of ENG’s strongest values is inspiration. Who inspires you the most?
Charlie: My Parents. They allow me to make my own decisions in both my personal and professional life and support me every step of the way.
Lionel: My Mom – raised me and my brother alone under tough circumstances. She deserves the world and more. And she makes a mean roast dinner.
What would you do if you didn’t work in recruitment?
Charlie:If I didn’t work in Recruitment then I would work in either the Police Force or the Fire Service. I am extremely passionate about helping people.
Lionel:I would probably go into another area of sales or try an pursue a professional career in sport.
How do you spend your spare time?
Charlie: In my spare time I like to go to Spin classes, socialise with family and friends or go on holiday.
Lionel:I play sport (cricket, football), socialise with friends and family, travel, have an uncontrollable fascination for true-crime documentaries
What are you most excited about working at Executive Network Group?
Charlie:I am really excited to be joining the Delivery Team within Network HR. This is a chance for me to really specialise in a certain area of the HR process whilst being surrounded by such hugely successful consultants. I am excited to work with like-minded individuals and develop my career further.
Lionel: I am excited to be part of an organisation that see’s recruitment for how I do and being part of the next part of the journey with Procurement People.
