New Starter Spotlight – Hardev Singh & Laura Ruben
Summer is just around the corner, and here at Network House we are already enjoying the sunshine and ready for another bank holiday. But before that, it’s time to welcome our two newest recruits; Hardev Singh and Laura Ruben!
Hardev has joined Executive Network Group as a Partner for The FMC Network. ENG has massive intent to make moves within the construction market, and Hardev joins us with 16 years experience within that very industry! His skills lie right across the board, but is exceptional at building and developing teams – something which will come in handy as he creates his own team within FMC’s construction division.
Laura is another ‘welcome back’ recruit, who worked for our Recruitment to Recruitment division from 2004 to 2009. After this she spent some time working within technical recruitment within construction M&E and has now decided to return to ENG to join our fastest growing team, The FMC Network. We’re so excited to have Laura back amongst our ranks!
Read the interview below to find out more about the newest #RisingStars of Network House!
What drew you to recruitment in the first place?
Hardev: Like with a lot of people, I fell into recruitment having seen a small advert in a local paper.
Laura: I have worked in Recruitment now for nearly 17 years, prior to this I worked within car insurance claims, and when made redundant after 3 years I stumbled into RED R2R who back then were based on Bennetts Hill, owned by Kerry Wykes. I asked what they did, they said Recruited for Recruitment businesses, explained what this was and when I said I wanted to work there, the consultant explained I would need at least 2 years as a trainee, and then I could come back for a role at RED. They placed me within the Best Connection where I did a Trainee then Consultant role, was very successful within he Industrial Temp world, then came back to find RED R2R for the role I had wanted. I then realised RED was now owned by Matt Ellis, I explained my story and he interviewed me for my role, I then spent 5 years at RED R2R.
Describe your personality in three words.
Hardev: Driven, enthusiastic, silly.
Laura: Lively, outgoing, happy.
One of ENG’s strongest values is inspiration. Who inspires you the most?
Hardev: My mam inspires me that most. She is the strongest and most driven person I know.
Laura: My dad. He worked hard within Construction. Always worked 7 days a week, all year round, never had any time off, a real grafter.
What would you do if you didn’t work in recruitment?
Hardev: I would definitely sell cars as I have always had a real passion for cars.
Laura: Something somewhere hot all year round, people orientated, maybe still in Sales.
How do you spend your spare time?
Hardev: I spend the majority of my spare time with my family. I have 6 nieces and nephews and a god-daughter and I enjoy nothing more than an afternoon in the park or at a Theme Park with the kids.
Laura: When I’m not partying, concentrating on doing up my little palace ( my home ) that I love.
What are you most excited about working at Executive Network Group?
Hardev: I am most excited about building a positive reputation within the Construction market for ENG. I am also excited about working around successful individuals as there is nothing more inspirational.
Laura: The change in environment, the new faces to meet and work with, ENG incentivise their Consultants well so I’m looking forward to being involved.
