Ensuring you have a diverse workforce has arguably, never been as scrutinised as it is at present, leading to a real emphasis on how and which businesses are acting on their D&I agenda. New data revealing that globally, searches for D&I roles have increased by 122%, coupled with the knowledge we have from numerous studies and research, shows that the importance of D&I is being taken seriously across (the majority of) businesses as well as employees and is an area that if not already, will need to be a key focus for businesses moving forward.


So, what does the data say?

  • Instant Offices research has revealed that over the last 10 years there has been a spike in the searches for ‘Diversity and Inclusion Manager’ globally
  • The CV Squad has identified that the number of CVs submitted to their CV review series that included ‘diversity and inclusion’ has increased by c.20% over the last 12 months (Aug 2020)
  • Glassdoor’s top hiring trend of 2020 showed a much greater focus on D&I roles as well as a 106% spike in UK job postings for D&I roles between Aug ’18 – Aug ‘19


The benefits of having a diverse workforce can be evidenced from proven statistics that show how D&I can have positive impacts on a business – looking at the findings from a McKinsey study, it is shown that organisations with greater racial and ethnic diversity are 35% more likely to have financial returns above their industry average, as well as Boston Consulting Group who found that businesses with more diverse management teams have 19% higher revenues due to innovation.
